Scrapbook sisters scrapbook page this month is anything goes.

this is the page I made from pieces of paper from a class together with some ribbons, flowers and buttons.

I used some old peel of swirls as a stencil then sprayed the white card with a blue perfect pearls and water mix unfortunately its not very obvious!

Scrapbook sisters card challenge

Its been a couple of weeks since I made a card for the scrapbook sisters card challenge so thought I better make one this week.

I also don't normally make large cards but this one is 8 x 8.  I decided to use a picture I had created with stamps and distress inks last week and as the theme was fairytale I used a sheet of my 8 x 8 one upon a time papers to cover the card

crafting

This is the first time for a while that I have blogged on general craft rather than the cards/pages i've made for the scrapbooksisters challenges. Anyway today has been quiet a productive day and after doing the challenge card I continued to use my distress inks to make an image of a sun rise that we saw when we were in South Africa.

I then decided to get my altered art book out which I have recently been experimenting with at Julie's classes. Anyway did some more work to one of the images in the book of betty boop that I put in it a while ago.

Scrapbook sisters challenge

The challenge this week is summer fun. I made this card after going to the stamping/inks class at the weekend. the image is made from masking and using distress inks to create the view. Hopefully its obvious that the image is of a beach and the sea!

I have then used a stamp that has been masked before inking so that I only have the one sail boat - the stamp has loads of boats. the boat is then coloured using copics

The dream is a Tim Holtz die cut that I have used as a stencil on the paper as well as on the card the photo is mounted on.

scrapbook page

This months scrapbook challenge is Wedding.

For this challenge I chose to scrap one of our wedding photos.

I chose lilac as this was the colour of our bridesmaid etc. As we are kissing in the photo the journalling tag has a definition of kissing on it. The Celtic stamp was the one I used to make all our wedding invitations and is stamped in versamark and embossed with silver embossing powder.

card for challenge

This is me card for scrapbook sisters card challenge this week which is buttons. I was fortunate that I finished it as every punch I used jammed and I kept dropping stuff - not a good day for crafting!!

Anyway the image was stamped in brown momento and coloured with copics the buttons are put on a button punch I have.

Scrapbook Sisters Challenge this week

I have been considering my card making of late and am now convinced that something is lacking from most of the cards i've made for the challenges. Anyway i've made another one that I think needs something else.

Didn't know I had the tulip stamps until I looked through for my stamps! anyway as normal they are stamped with momentos and coloured in copics then through the cuttlebug and distressed with vintage photo distress ink.

I then stamped ivy round the card (after covering it with yellow paper

Spring Flowers Challenge

I've lost count of the number for this challenge, however, this is this weeks card challenge at scrapbook sisters - spring flowers. I spent nearly all day today on my scrapbook page so I wanted to make a quiet easy card and came up with this. each of the flowers is made from two colours of pearlescent paper and two sizes of punches. Think this is the first card I have made that doesn't have a stamped image on it. The pink ribbon has been heated to make it ruffle (one of Gayle's techniques).

Scrapbook Challenge no. 1

Scrapbook sisters have started a monthly scrapbook chalenge. Their first one is "framed" and here is my page.

I believe this is the first page I have created on my own with my own papers rather than using ones from class. The 3 photos are taken in South Africa - we were in Kruger national park where generally you weren't allowed out of the car unless you were in specified areas - in the middle of a bridge or the occassional are overlooking rivers. We got out here and was looking at the view when we turned back to look at the front of the tree there were a number of monkeys in the tree. They all started getting out and coming towards us so we swiftly retreated to the car where the monkeys then posed for us.

Anyway back to the page the frames are made from nestabilities the punches are the new woodware edger with a brown ribbon. The circles were cut out on the cricut, the green one is embossed and then distressed.

Busy Busy

i've had a productive day today! and this is my third post!! Here are some images of a few of the stamps I have bought this week. Hubby gave me some money for my birthday so thought I would spend on crafting bits and bobs :)

Inevitably I bought a couple of things that I thought were a good idea at the time but once home wondered what I was thinking! The first one being sepia coloured glossy accents!! The second which I have changed my mind about again is the "keep calm and carry on" stamp. the three stamped images have all been distressed :)

the card is with the poppies is as normal coloured with copics markers.

Altered Art

At the altered art class on Thursday we were using canvases. For this canvas I painted it on gold covering the left side with card stamped with harlequin pattern, then covered in a gold wash. The swirls are stamped with black acrylic.

The pics are stamped images - onto card and distressed the stamp of the patisserie reminds me of a lovely old fashioned shop we found in Prague and the other stamp is of the clock tower in Prague.

The wording is stamped direct onto the canvas and says "life is not a matter of milestones but a matter of moments".

Challenge 23

This is the card I made for this weeks challenge at Scrapbook Sisters - Baby Baby. I have made very few baby cards although this year I will need to make at least 3!!

Anyway the image is a forever friends stamp which i've stamped in memento's then coloured with copics markers.

the image is then cut out on the cuttlebug using nestabilities circles. I decided on yellow as it can then be used for either sex.
